The Clackmannanshire Sports Awards
for 2022

Hannah Toovey won Junior Sports Personality, sponsored by the Alloa Advertiser, after being selected to represent Great Britain, whilst Dylan Christie won in the Senior category for his Euro efforts in martial arts. Team of the Year was awarded to Alloa East End Ladies bowling club after they won the British Isles Champions.

The Triumph Over Adversity award is split up into two parts. The Participation award was handed to Brogan Kourire. Brogan has cerebral palsy and one arm but is a keen rugby player and an active member of his team.

The Adversity Sports Competitor award was won by Ellie McLaren who finished 3rd place in the individual category at the Clackmannanshire ASN Boccia competition.

Tillicoultry Primary’s Ski Team claimed the Judy Collier Primary School Team of the Year award as they finished 3rd place out of over 20 teams across Scotland.

The Secondary School Team of the Year award went to Alloa Academy Badminton Pairs team after two pupils – Grace and Krystal – won first place in the U16 girls doubles category at the Forth Valley Badminton Championships.

Innes Mullen won the Junior School Sports Award for his role in Team St. Serf’s and for finishing first in P7 in the cross country championships.

The Coach of the Year for Participation award went to Steven Boyle for his role in developing young footballers across the Wee County, whilst for Competition, Kris Illingworth won for coaching the Forth Valley Vikings to become league winners in 2022.

In the Primary Young Leader category, Ailey Lavery and Kardelen Archbold won for organising a badminton club for different primary age groups to enjoy.  Lewis McDermid was awarded the Senior Young Leader award for his role in assisting and leading martial arts classes.

Lastly, the Services to Sport award went to Casha McNab for her services in running Dollar Tennis Club for nearly 30 years.
